BEND, Ore. — A monthslong investigation into stolen vehicles across Central Oregon has resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Sisters man, authorities said.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Blake Mogan in connection with multiple theft cases spanning December 2025 through February 2026. Investigators said the cases involved heavy equipment and other vehicles taken from locations in Sisters, Redmond and Bend.
Deputies first contacted Mogan on Dec. 9, 2025, when he was arrested in Redmond after operating a stolen construction loader taken from a nearby job site. Following that incident, law enforcement agencies began reviewing additional thefts with similar patterns.
On Feb. 17, deputies located an abandoned and heavily damaged Sisters School District Suburban on Buckhorn Road. Authorities said evidence recovered from the vehicle, along with onboard video footage, identified Mogan as the person responsible for unlawfully entering the district’s transportation building and stealing the vehicle.
On Feb. 23, deputies responded to a report of a stolen City of Sisters F-450 crane truck. The vehicle was located on a forest road northwest of Sisters. Mogan was contacted at the scene and taken into custody without incident. Deputies also recovered a stolen utility trailer connected to the case.
Authorities said Mogan admitted during interviews to involvement in multiple vehicle thefts, including cases under investigation by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, the Bend Police Department and the Black Butte Police Department.
Mogan was lodged at the Deschutes County Adult Jail on charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and driving while suspended. Officials said he also faces a parole violation detainer related to prior convictions.
The investigations remain ongoing, and additional charges from partner agencies may follow.
