Investigation Led by Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office
A 37-year-old man from Troutdale has been arrested and is facing more than a dozen serious charges related to the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
Authorities identified the suspect as James A. Lowry, who was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Charges Include Rape, Abuse and Strangulation
Lowry has been booked on multiple charges, including:
- First-degree rape
- First-degree sexual abuse
- Strangulation
He is currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center, according to officials.
Alleged Crimes Spanned Several Months
Court documents indicate that the alleged incidents occurred between October 2025 and February 2026.
Officials also noted that Lowry lives near Troutdale Elementary School, though authorities confirmed the victim is not a student at the school.
Concerns Over Additional Victims
Investigators say there is concern that there may be more victims connected to the case.
The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
