Arrest Made by U.S. Marshals Service
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Virginia in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred in downtown Portland late last year.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jaylen K. Harris, who is originally from Portland.
December Shooting Left One Dead, Another Injured
The case stems from a shooting just before midnight on December 28, 2025, in the 200 block of Southwest Ankeny Street.
Police said two men were shot during the incident:
- John C. Frazier, 25, was killed at the scene
- A second victim suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized
Extradition to Oregon Expected
Harris was taken into custody outside Oregon and is expected to be extradited back to face charges related to the homicide.
Investigators have not disclosed details about how Harris was identified or located.
Investigation Still Ongoing
Officials say the case remains under investigation, and additional information may be released as it progresses.
