Three people were taken into custody in Virginia City on Thursday evening on multiple drug-related charges, with two of them also facing weapons charges.
The incident began with a traffic stop on D Street around 4:59 p.m., according to a release from the Storey County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.
During the stop, deputies developed reasonable suspicion involving 46-year-old Christa Dyer and 45-year-old Hubert Dyer of Virginia City and deployed a K9 to conduct a sniff of the vehicle.
The dog alerted positively, prompting a search that uncovered suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin inside the car.
Deputies arrested both of the Dyers and then obtained a search warrant for their nearby residence.
When deputies arrived at the home, they encountered 67-year-old Sergio Molina.
Molina was already under court-ordered conditions related to a prior drug arrest and was taken into custody for failing to comply with those conditions.
A search of the apartment uncovered additional drugs, materials associated with drug sales, drug paraphernalia, and a shotgun along with ammunition.
