With Oregon’s primary election fast approaching, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Brittany Jones is outlining a platform centered on transparency, accountability, and community-focused spending.
“Follow the money” approach
Speaking ahead of the Oregon primary elections, Jones said her first major action as governor would be a comprehensive audit of all state departments under executive control.
“We deserve to know where the money is and how it’s being spent,” Jones said, emphasizing that public funds should directly benefit areas like housing, healthcare, education, and small business support.
Her proposal reflects a broader push to increase oversight and ensure taxpayer dollars are not misused or diverted toward political or corporate interests.
Key priorities
Beyond financial transparency, Jones highlighted several policy commitments:
- Strengthening collaboration with First Nations communities
- Protecting freedom of speech and gender expression through executive action
- Redirecting state resources toward essential public services
A crowded primary field
The race remains highly competitive, with 10 Democratic and 14 Republican candidates vying for their party’s nomination. Voters will soon decide which candidates advance to the general election in what is shaping up to be a closely watched gubernatorial contest.
As the campaign enters its final stretch, Jones is positioning herself as a reform-focused candidate aiming to rebuild public trust in government spending and priorities.
