The search for a missing Franklin County man has ended, with authorities confirming his death.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the body of 73-year-old William Collins was discovered Thursday. Collins was reported missing after being last heard from on Tuesday of last week at around 8:15 p.m.
Sheriff A.J. Smith said an autopsy is scheduled for Friday. The reason and manner of death have yet to be released.
Officials noted that the investigation is still ongoing as they seek to discover the circumstances surrounding Collins’ death.
