A man was injured and a woman taken into custody after a domestic dispute turned violent early Monday morning on Chicago’s South Side.
According to police, the incident occurred around 12:01 a.m. in the 9300 block of South Laflin Street in the city’s Brainerd district.
A domestic dispute between a 31-year-old man and a woman escalated into physical violence. During the altercation, the woman pulled out her firearm and shot the man in the thigh.
Officers arrived and brought the woman into custody on the scene.
The individual was treated by the Chicago Fire Department and sent to Christ Hospital in satisfactory condition.
It is unknown what sparked the altercation.
Police said charges are pending.
