A fugitive wanted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office since 2024 was apprehended Tuesday after allegedly attempting to steal things from a Walmart in Fairfield Township, authorities said.

According to Fairfield Township police, officers arrived last Thursday to a reported theft in progress at a Walmart. When officers attempted to approach the subject, he allegedly fled through the business, into an employee-only section, and out a back door into the woods.

Police later identified the suspect as Shaun Walls, who was wanted in Warren County on a number of offenses, including narcotics trafficking and carrying a concealed handgun.

The Fairfield Township Police Department asked the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team for help in finding Walls. According to authorities, U.S. Marshals apprehended him in Hamilton on Tuesday.

In addition to the felony charges from Warren County, Fairfield Township police charged Walls with stealing, impeding government business, criminal damage, and criminal trespass.

The investigation is underway.
