Two Missouri men were taken into custody Monday following a traffic stop in Jackson County.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, at about 4:16 p.m., a deputy stopped a 2000 GMC Yukon on U.S. Highway 75 near 118th Road.
During the stop, deputies searched the vehicle for probable cause and allegedly discovered open containers of alcohol, drug paraphernalia, and cocaine.
As a result, the two people in the vehicle were arrested.
The driver, Diego Galaviz-Lopez, of Kansas City, Missouri, was taken into the Jackson County Jail for the following:
- possession of cocaine
- possession of drug paraphernalia
- transporting an open container of alcohol
- driving without a valid driver’s license
The passenger, Ramon Aguilera Rodriguez, of Kansas City, Missouri, was also booked into Jackson County Jail in connection with transporting an open container of alcohol.
