A missing 14-year-old Southern California girl was located safe, authorities confirmed Tuesday night.

Crystal Navarrete, 14, was first reported missing on May 12, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

She was last seen strolling around 8:15 a.m. on the 800 block of 119th Street in Los Angeles, and was deemed seriously missing. Her family has not heard from her since, and they are anxious for her well-being. On Tuesday night, the LAPD said that the girl had been “found and reunited with her family.”

No more information, including the circumstances surrounding her discovery, was disclosed.

A “critically missing person” is defined as follows:

  • A person who has no pattern of running away or disappearing
  • A person in critical need of medical attention
  • The victim of a crime or foul play
  • The victim of a kidnapping or parental abduction

A person who is mentally impaired to the extent that such person is unable to care for himself or herself or is an immediate danger to his or her own safety or the safety of others
