A man convicted of assaulting a nurse at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center was sentenced to three years in prison.

Asiakare Minor was sentenced during a court hearing this week. The attack occurred in November in the hospital’s postpartum wing, when Minor became angry with a nurse after she told him to put his newborn infant back in his cot.

According to the evidence given in the lawsuit, Minor grabbed the nurse’s blouse and lanyard and dragged her. The newborn was unharmed during the altercation.

Samantha McLeod, the nurse, claimed that “The time since then has been the most challenging period of my life, and compounding my physical, emotional, and financial devastation, also haven’t received the support I’ve needed from OSU Medical Center or Ohio’s workers’ comp system.”
