A woman was allegedly assaulted and robbed outside a nearby nightclub over the weekend.
Dayton Police Department Lieutenant Eric Sheldon said officers called to Miami Valley North Hospital early Saturday morning after the victim of an alleged robbery arrived.
The 22-year-old lady informed investigators that the assault occurred as she was exiting The Reserve on Third nightclub, located at 452 E Third Street.
The victim’s sister instructed her to get into the car, but a group of women misinterpreted “the words were meant for them,” according to Sheldon.
The group began abusing the 22-year-old woman.
According to Sheldon, the victim informed cops that the group yanked many braids from her scalp and kicked and punched her repeatedly.
During the assault, the group allegedly grabbed around $200 and other items from her purse.
The victim claimed that the assault stopped when someone started firing a gun, according to Sheldon.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Dayton Police Department’s Violent Offender Unit continues to investigate this event.
