A Pennsylvania Lottery retailer in Berks County recently sold a winning $10,000 a Month for Life Scratch-Off ticket, according to lottery officials.

The winning ticket was sold at Star Gas & Diesel, situated at 8558 Lancaster Avenue in Bethel Township. The retailer will be awarded a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The Pennsylvania Lottery did not say whether the winner chose the game’s top prize of $10,000 per month for life or the accessible cash option, worth $1.6 million before statutory withholding.

The Pennsylvania Lottery offers a $5 game called “$10,000 a Month for Life Scratch-Off.” Lottery officials stated that scratch-off tickets are issued randomly, so neither the lottery nor retailers know where winning tickets will be sold. The lottery only finds out where a winning ticket was purchased after the award has been claimed.

Lottery officials warned players that scratch-off winnings expire one year from the game’s end-of-sale date. Winners are asked to sign the back of their ticket right once and call the Pennsylvania Lottery to begin the claims process.

All Pennsylvania Lottery winnings greater than $5,000 are subject to applicable state and federal withholding laws.
