A Wildwood man was apprehended on a warrant this week after reportedly threatening to harm a woman and her children via voicemail.

An arrest record states that deputies spoke with a physically frightened and fearful woman at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in January. She said that 36-year-old Darius J.Vod Leonard Harris had threatened her.

She had blocked his number. The call record on her phone indicated 18 missed calls from a blocked number, all of which came from Harris. According to the allegation, he left several voicemails that made her feel worried and anxious.

In the first, Harris indicated that he was going to come to Wildwood, find her, and harm her and her children. In the second, he threatened to put a photo of them online, and in the final, he threatened to kill her rather than call her again. According to the report, the victim was so concerned about her own safety and that of her children that she planned to purchase a pistol.

Following her original report, the victim received additional calls and messages from Harris through pals, according to the report.

Harris was eventually arrested on Tuesday night on a warrant charging him with aggravated stalking. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center without bond.
