A Cole County woman apprehended in connection with an ongoing narcotics investigation in Centertown is anticipated to face further charges.
The Cole County Sheriff’s Department and the MUSTANG Drug Task Force carried out a narcotics search warrant Thursday morning at a property in the 11000 block of Pine Street.
During a residential search, officers discovered two baggies containing eleven grams of methamphetamine and 26 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. They also found things associated with drug distribution, such as packaging supplies and digital scales.
Melissa Heet, 55, the home’s lone tenant, was arrested and charged with two counts of controlled substance delivery. According to court records, a case of second-degree narcotics trafficking is pending in Cole County Circuit Court.
Heet is being held in the Cole County Jail on no bond.
