Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, Lane County officers went to a reported gunfire incident in the 87000 block of Huston Road in Veneta.
Responding deputies contacted many people at the scene and determined one person had died.
Mark Thomas Tierney, 40, was the person who died.
During the investigation, LCSO investigators arrested the gunman, Martin Grant Tierney, 63, for second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
The LCSO confirmed that the two are father and son.
Martin Tierney was booked into the Lane County Jail, and the investigation is ongoing.
The LCSO claimed that all individuals involved in this case have been located and accounted for and that there is no longer a concern to public safety.
