Two people were seriously injured after a vehicle overturned in Logan County on Sunday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers were dispatched to the incident on State Route 117 around 8:17 a.m.

Investigators, according to reports, said a 66-year-old woman driving a Honda Odyssey fell asleep at the wheel, leading the vehicle to drive off the right side of the road. The minivan then hit an embankment and flipped.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and worked to rescue the driver from the wreckage.

The driver and her husband were critically injured in the collision and were airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors to the incident.

The crash is still under investigation.
