A juvenile has been apprehended after driving a stolen vehicle and fleeing a traffic stop overnight, according to Springfield Township police.

Officers confirm they stopped the Kia, which had been reported stolen from Sharonville, at 2:46 a.m. Monday on Cottonwood Drive near Hempstead Drive.

The teenage driver turned into a parking lot, then hopped out and fled, leaving a revolver in the car and leading police on a brief foot chase.

The juvenile was captured on Thunderbird Drive about 15 minutes later, authorities say.

They sent him to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as a precaution owing to his young age, which police declined to reveal.

Police tell FOX19 NOW that they charged the man with receiving stolen property and carrying concealed weapons.
