Two owners of an Ocala RV dealership have been charged following a financial crimes investigation that uncovered alleged fraud involving more than two dozen customers, according to the Ocala Police Department.
The inquiry focused on Village RV on South Pine Avenue and its proprietors, Anthony Piccone, 65, and his son, Drake Piccione, 31.
According to police, the inquiry began in August 2024, when a victim reported being cheated of money and an RV. As investigators continued their investigation, more than two dozen more victims filed similar accusations.
Victims claimed a variety of concerns, including unpaid RV consignments, unreturned payments, missing titles, bank loans that were allegedly never paid off, and recreational vehicles sold without necessary documentation.
Detectives discovered that client cash were allegedly misappropriated and spent on personal costs such as travel, luxury vehicles, and entertainment.
Based on the investigation’s findings, Detective Demary determined there was probable cause to prosecute Anthony Piccone and Drake Piccione with organized fraud in excess of $50,000.
Police said the charges carry stiffer punishments because elderly victims were among those affected.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Ocala Police Department is requesting anyone with knowledge about the case to contact investigators.
