A young woman was apprehended on charges of felony escaping and reckless driving after a vehicle pursuit with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies in West Hollywood early Wednesday morning.
According to investigators, deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station launched a pursuit early on June 10. The chase ended with the culprit apprehended with no reported injuries.
According to sheriff’s detention records, the driver is Bianca Iker, 18 years old.
Iker was arrested at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of breaking California Vehicle Code section 2800.2(a), which is a felony that involves avoiding a peace officer with a reckless disregard for public safety. The charge is classified as a felony.
Booking records reveal that Iker was arrested on June 10 by deputies from the West Hollywood Station Patrol. She was being held without bond on Wednesday, according to jail records.
Sheriff’s officials did not immediately reveal information on the circumstances surrounding the pursuit, such as where it began, how long it lasted, and whether any property damage happened. However, her arrest was publicized on social media, along with a photograph of a woman being carried away in handcuffs.
In a statement accompanying the arrest news, the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station stressed its dedication to public safety.
“Our deputies work around the clock to keep WeHo’s streets safe for everyone,” the station reported.
