2 men apprehended after shooting in North Portland

Two men were apprehended following a shooting in the Cathedral Park neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officers responded to a shooting around 6:15 a.m. near North Chicago Avenue and North Ivanhoe Street.

According to authorities, two people were driving past the neighborhood when two men stopped them. As the couple drove away, one of the men allegedly fired in their direction. The pair was not harmed.

Police claimed gunfire struck a parked car and a nearby structure.

Officers apprehended two men, Scout M. Cruikshank and Samuel L. Jamison, both 26 years old. According to police, detectives seized a firearm and ammo during the inquiry.

Cruikshank was arrested for illegal weapon use and possession, while Jamison was arrested on multiple warrants.

The inquiry is still ongoing, and no additional information has been revealed.
