A Minneola couple were apprehended for assault after allegedly threatening to kill each other with a gun.

Deputies responded to a battery complaint at the residence of Lezlee Anderson, 61, and her husband, Michael Todd Anderson, 59, at 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Lezlee explained that she was arguing with Michael in their bedroom when he threw his cane at her, prompting her to take his pistol from the kitchen counter. She confessed to brandishing it in the air and threatening to shoot him if he grabbed her. He still grabbed her throat and held her, but did not choke her, according to the report.

Michael stood up and snatched the handgun and his cane from Lezlee. He aimed the former at her and threatened to murder her, according to the claim.

However, according to Michael, he was laying in his bed in his room when Lezlee entered and spoke harshly. They began to dispute, and she took his pistol from the kitchen and pointed it at him. He hurled his cane at her moments before getting out of bed and removing both objects from her possession, according to the report.

He placed the handgun on his bedside table before rolling over. Lezlee returned to the bedroom and took the handgun, according to the complaint.

Lezlee later handed law enforcement a video that was simply audio because the phone was set to camera down. They overheard the pair shouting and threatening to murder each other. They both screamed at each other and appeared to be fighting over the pistol, according to the complaint.

This handgun was eventually discovered on the back porch of the home, where Lezlee informed dispatchers she was during her 911 call. According to the investigation, both she and Michael expressed worry that the other might use the pistol to harm them.

Both were arrested on charges of aggravated assault (domestic) and placed into Lake County Jail. While Lezlee was released after paying a $2,500 bond, Michael remains in jail.
