A Summerfield woman was apprehended on a violence charge after an encounter with her boyfriend, who was attempting to call his mother.
Marion County Sheriff’s officers arrested Ruth Ann-Marie Fieselman, 34, late Monday night. The event occurred at the RaceTrac petrol station and convenience store in Summerfield, which is located at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 441 and Sunset Harbor Road.
According to the arrest complaint, Fieselman informed deputies that she and her boyfriend had just left a pub. While she was driving him home, the boyfriend tried to call his mom. Fieselman attempted to stop him because it was late. She got “on top of him” while driving to take the phone from his grasp.
Fieselman claimed her partner punched her in the face to pull her off him, resulting in a tiny mark on her lip. She successfully snatched the phone, drove into the RaceTrac, and hurled it out.
The boyfriend fled the scene before police arrived. When contacted by phone, he was uncooperative and refused to provide any additional information for fear of being detained alongside Fieselman. The couple has been dating for a few of weeks.
Because Fieselman was considered to be the principal aggressor and the boyfriend was acting in self-defense to get her off of him, she was charged with domestic battery.
Fieselman was arrested and sent to the Marion County Jail, where she was initially held without bond.
