Liam Payne’s son has reportedly been named the only beneficiary of the late singer’s estate.

The former One Direction star died in October 2024 at the age of 31. Liam fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Authorities said his cause of death was “polytrauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” caused by the fall. Toxicology reports later revealed that alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants were in his system before his death.

Before his tragic passing, Liam had not prepared a will. His former partner and the mother of his nine-year-old son Bear, Cheryl Cole, was appointed as an administrator of his estate alongside music lawyer Richard Bray. The development comes after Payne’s ex-girlfriend Kate Cassidy made a surprising revelation about their relationship.

As administrators of the estate, the pair have the authority to gather and safeguard the former boy band star’s assets. According to TMZ, recent court documents show that Liam’s estate has been valued at around $28 million.

The outlet reported that while some of the money can be accessed, most of it is being kept in a trust for Bear until he turns 18.

The Sun also reported that Kate Cassidy, who was dating Liam at the time of his death, does not plan to make any claims on his estate.

The estate also includes his five-bedroom home in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire, England. Liam bought the property in 2021, reportedly to be closer to Bear following his split from Cheryl in 2018.

Cheryl and Liam were together from 2016 to 2018. The pair first crossed paths in 2008 when Cheryl served as a judge and Liam auditioned as a contestant on The X Factor.

The British singer died on October 16, 2024, at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel shortly after 5 p.m. local time.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but Liam was pronounced dead at the hotel.

A subsequent autopsy found that he died from “polytrauma,” a term used to describe multiple traumatic injuries to the body.

About two years ago, Payne had been vacationing in Argentina briefly with his girlfriend, Kate, 26, as the pair attended Niall Horan’s performance in Buenos Aires before enjoying several days in the city.

Kate flew back to the U.S. about three days prior to his death, while Payne prolonged his visit alone.

During the hours preceding his death, Payne was captured on hotel security cameras conversing with staff and guests.

According to local reports, Payne brought two women to his hotel room earlier that day and was later seen leaning over the balcony shortly before the fatal fall.

Authorities arrested two men in connection with the singer’s death: 25-year-old waiter Braian Paiz and 22-year-old hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra.

Despite the charges, both men have maintained that they were wrongly held responsible for the singer’s death.
