Another Reddit user said they encountered what appeared to be an emergency recovery operation while hiking the Mist Trail on Sunday.

“I was hiking Mist Trail this afternoon when people in yellow shirts … rolled a body bag down the granite steps on an off-road stretcher,” the user wrote. “We all had to step to the side so they could make it down the steps.”

The poster called the experience “one of the most chilling things I’ve ever witnessed” and said they were “still processing it.” Authorities have not released any further information, including the circumstances surrounding the incident or the condition of the 23-year-old man.
