The parents of a baby girl were apprehended after the baby was transported to the hospital with broken bones and a brain bleed, according to authorities.
Deputies in Richmond County arrested Mary Green, 19, and Jasiah Bethea, 20, on Monday, according to jail records.
According to the incident report, deputies responded to Wellstar MCG to investigate alleged child abuse.
According to the complaint, deputies spoke with ER staff who informed them that the baby girl had extensive bruising, many broken bones, and a brain bleed.
Green and Bethea informed deputies that the baby was born prematurely and has been having difficulty breathing, according to the report.
According to the report, Green informed deputies that Bethea performed CPR on the baby a few days before the incident.
Both Green and Bethea face first-degree child cruelty charges.
