A man accused of shooting and killing a 17-year-old at a Gresham park in 2025 has been apprehended in Spokane, Washington, police say.
Gresham Police said 17-year-old Jorge Ovidio Mateo Vasquez was slain in an apparent unprovoked attack on the futsal field at Vance Park on January 23, 2025.
On March 13, 2025, investigators publicized the name and photograph of the suspect, Camerino Vides, in an attempt to locate him.
On Tuesday, June 25, Spokane authorities reportedly recognized Vides, a suspect in detention on unrelated charges.
