A man was critically hurt after being shot while driving through a convenience store parking lot in West Phoenix overnight on Saturday.
Police responded to the alleged gunfire around 12:45 a.m. at the QuikTrip on 35th Avenue, just north of Roosevelt Street.
When authorities arrived, they discovered a man shot by someone in a white sedan while driving through the parking lot, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Police said the victim was armed and fired fire, hitting the suspect’s automobile. The suspect then departed the scene.
According to authorities, first responders transported the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives have responded to investigate what caused the shooting. It is still an active investigation.
