ORIGINAL: Police in suburban Mount Prospect are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing 13-year-old boy who was last spotted leaving his house Monday night.
Alexy Schroeter, who has a mild intellectual disability, was last seen around 11:30 p.m. near Lions Park with a grey t-shirt and grey shorts. He stands about 4’11” tall and weighs around 90 pounds, according to authorities.
Mount Prospect police originally posted about the missing youngster at 7 a.m. Tuesday, requesting the community’s assistance in locating him. Around 12:20 p.m., police issued an update requesting the community to check unlocked automobiles and vehicles.
“Our department recently sent out a mass notification via phone, text, and email to the area around where 13-year-old Alexy was last seen,” the post stated. “We are asking the community to check unlocked vehicles or sheds on their property, as Alexy may have searched for a place to sleep during the overnight hours.”
We urge anyone who knows Alexy’s whereabouts or has seen him to call 911.
