A Village of Bonnybrook resident recently won $10,000 with a scratch-off lottery ticket she purchased at a nearby Walmart.

Christine Lynn Stape won $10,000 on Thursday, June 25 while playing the 10X The Cash scratch-off game, according to the Florida Lottery.

Stape bought her winning ticket at Walmart, situated at 4085 Wedgewood Lane in The Villages.

The 10x The Cash scratch-off game has more than a dozen top prizes of $10,000, as well as millions of minor rewards ranging from $1 to $200.

Stape’s recent fortune adds to a string of lottery victories in The Villages and adjacent villages during the last few weeks.

Just days following Stape’s victory, Francis Charles Gordon of the Village of Shady Brook won the $39,830.45 top prize in the Fantasy 5 evening drawing on Saturday, June 27.

Gordon bought his winning ticket at Publix at Magnolia Plaza, situated at 2135 Everglades Lane in The Villages.

Gordon’s winnings were the second significant lottery win at the Magnolia Plaza Publix in the last month, and the third since last year.

In May, another Villager won a Fantasy 5 evening top prize of $50,724.99 after purchasing his ticket at the same Publix.

Furthermore, Florida Lottery records show that the Magnolia Plaza Publix sold another winning ticket worth $43,664.53 in March 2025.

Outside of the Magnolia Plaza site, several other winning lottery tickets have been claimed by nearby people in recent weeks.
