One person was hurt after a chase with deputies on July 4 in Sumter County.
At 6:28 p.m., the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) attempted to stop a black Ford Edge for a traffic infraction on US Highway 521 and Gaillard Road.
Authorities say the vehicle sped away, sparking a chase down US 521, Camden Highway, and Queen Chapel Road.
The driver hit a tire deflation device and crashed near 1826 Queen Chapel Road.
According to SCHP, the driver was injured and is currently in the hospital.
The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office are all investigating.
