Two teenagers were apprehended and charged after a 14-year-old boy was discovered shot at an apartment complex in Conroe on Thursday morning.
The Conroe Police Department responded to a gunshot at the Alta Sergeant apartments, 650 Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd. N., around 6:14 a.m.
Responding authorities discovered the 14-year-old with a single gunshot wound. He received medical attention before being taken to a Montgomery County hospital in stable condition.
Officers found the apartment where the youngster was shot and discovered that two juvenile guys, aged 14 and 15, were present at the time of the incident but left before officers arrived.
Conroe police detectives and crime scene investigators arrived on the site to investigate.
A few hours later, both teenage suspects were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Both were taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.
The inquiry is ongoing, and no other information has been revealed.
Because the victim and suspects are minors, their identities will not be disclosed.
