$3 Million Bond Set For Man Charged In Northeast Ohio Stabbing And Chase

A Stark County magistrate has set a $3 million bond for a man suspected of stabbing a woman in Canton and pursuing police on a protracted chase across Northeast Ohio.

According to Canton Municipal Court documents, Julius Edwards is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, and domestic violence in relation to the July 7 stabbing.

The court also ordered Edwards to maintain no communication with the claimed victim.

Edwards was arrested after police claimed he led officers on a pursuit across Summit County that included a portion of a golf course.

According to investigators, he is also accused of shooting an Ohio State Highway Patrol officer, causing a large crash in Hudson, stealing a vehicle in Hudson, and colliding with a Summit Metro Parks police cruiser.

Last Wednesday, Stow police released body camera and dash camera footage from the chase and Edwards’ capture.

According to Stow police reports, Edwards was taken to the hospital following his arrest for injuries incurred while stealing a vehicle in Hudson.

A status conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15.
