A 20-year-old woman was apprehended on a battery charge after a domestic dispute turned into a scuffle involving flying kitchen utensils and hair pulling.

At around 5 p.m. Saturday, Sumter County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at the Parker at East Village apartments in Lady Lake, near BJ’s Wholesale.

When deputies arrived, they discovered Samaria Green and a male buddy having a violent verbal argument. The arrest report states that Green found something that led to the fight.

Green initially told a deputy, “I threw…” but later changed her tale, claiming the dispute never became violent. However, deputies discovered new bruises to her right knuckles, consistent with a closed-fist strike.

The victim described the altercation much more vividly, telling deputies that Green “beat him up” by striking him on both sides of his face, tossing cooking utensils at him, and forcibly pulling his hair.

While checking the kitchen, deputies discovered tangible evidence to support his story. A utensil tray and many kitchen items were discovered scattered across the floor. They also located a patch of the victim’s hair on the kitchen floor, which he confirmed had been ripped off his head during the altercation.

Green maintained her tale and denied the attacks, but based on her scraped knuckles and the chaotic kitchen crime scene, she was proven to be the main aggressor.

Green was booked into Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting a $50 bond.
