A New Albany, Indiana man driving his van through Sharon was apprehended on narcotics charges Saturday night.
Police Chief Gary Eddings arrested Robert Scharlow (scar-low) on accusations of violating the light law.
Scharlow told Chief Eddings that he was on his way to Florida when the chief informed the driver that he was going out of his way.
The chief noticed a “rolled joint” in the van, obtained consent to search, and discovered three huge packages of marijuana weighing 48 grammes. He was detained and put into the Weakley County Jail.
Scharlow had his dog in the van with him, so Chief Eddings took ownership of the dog and transported it to the pound for safety.
