The man detained in connection with a crash that killed a 10-year-old made his first court appearance on Monday.

Tanner Hunt, 28, of Elkhorn, has been charged with motor vehicle homicide and DUI causing serious bodily injury.

Hunt’s bond amount was set at $10 million. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 17.

If Hunt bonds out, he will have to cooperate with GPS monitoring and 24-hour sobriety treatment.

Prior to the accident, Hunt was out on bond for another DUI offense he was arrested for on April 3 in Bellevue.

According to court filings, Hunt was driving east on West Center Road at high speeds and weaving through traffic. It was said in court that Hunt’s vehicle was traveling at 98 MPH one second before the crash.

Hunt’s Chevrolet collided with a Subaru turning south on 114th Street, breaking it in half. Hunt was hospitalized as a result of his injuries received in the incident.

Hunt’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was.095, and he revealed to officials that he had taken Adderall earlier that day.

A warrant was issued for Hunt’s blood and urine samples. He declined to produce samples for either warrant.
