Police in Somerset County said they apprehended a wanted Virginia fugitive and suspected criminal gang member on Tuesday, July 21, after tracking him down to a Budget Inn.

Travis S. Jefferson, according to a Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, was wanted by Norfolk, Virginia, authorities for being armed and dangerous. Officers stated that he was wanted on charges of unlawful wounding, narcotics distribution and use, driving with a suspended license, and probation violation.

According to the post, Jefferson was arrested after police entered his hotel room at the Budget Inn in Somerset.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Somerset County Detectives and the Somerset County Drug Task Force, charged Jefferson as a fugitive from justice.

Judge Walker set bail at $25,000 pending extradition to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
