A 1-year-old baby boy has died in southeastern Indiana, according to a spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office is conducting the autopsy, and he was identified Friday morning as Thade Gauck of Greensburg.
The infant died Thursday at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center after being taken there last week and placed on life support, an Indiana Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman told FOX19 NOW.
A parent discovered him in a private pond near a pier shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, July 17, and took life-saving efforts, according to the state agency.
According to an IDNR spokeswoman, no foul play is suspected, and the tragedy is being treated as tragic.
