An attempted kidnapping is being investigated in Pittsburgh.

A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson says the incident occurred approximately 12:15 a.m. Sunday at a Sunoco gas station on Cedar Avenue.

A man informed police that his 15-year-old daughter was in the backseat of the car while he entered the convenience store. During that time, an unknown man unlocked the car door and attempted to take her.

The girl received a scratch on the leg but was otherwise uninjured.

Police investigated the area for the suspect but did not find him. The investigation is underway.
