Two men were detained on several charges in Northeast El Paso following an aggravated robbery investigation, according to the El Paso Police Department.
EPPD’s Auto Theft Task Force officers were looking into an aggravated robbery that occurred on Sunday, August 2.
Officers discovered the car involved in the incident on Monday, August 3, and requested the Texas Department of Public Safety’s aid in conducting a traffic stop.
The vehicle’s driver allegedly refused to stop, resulting in a crash, according to EPPD. The automobile became inoperable at the 8600 block of Dyer Street.
The two occupants, Angel Aaron Flores, 22, and Rafael De Jesus Bustillos, 18, were then placed under arrest on the following charges:
Angel Aaron Flores, 22, of Horizon.
- Aggravated robbery
- Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
- Evading arrest/detention with a vehicle
- Failure to stop/render aid-collision involving injury
Rafael De Jesus Bustillos, 18, of San Elizario.
- Evading arrest/detention
- Aggravated robbery
- Assault on a peace officer
Both males were booked into El Paso County Detention. Bustillos was placed on a $61,000 bond, while Flores’ bail is still pending, according to jail records.
The investigation is underway.
