A man has been sentenced to 12 years in Mississippi Department of Corrections detention after pleading guilty to fentanyl trafficking.
Jeremy McGee pleaded guilty on August 3 before Circuit Court Judge Kelly L. Mims, according to First Circuit Court District Attorney Jason D. Herring.
Mims condemned McGee to 12 years in prison, with an extra 28 years suspended. McGee was also ordered to serve five years of post-release supervision after completing his jail sentence.
Because he was convicted of trafficking, McGee must serve the entire 12-year term without the prospect of parole or early release, according to the district attorney’s office.
The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit.
Megan French, Assistant District Attorney, prosecuted the case on behalf of the State.
