Downtown Fargo shooting suspect detained in June in Minneapolis enters pleas

A 22-year-old man who was detained in Minneapolis in June in connection with a fatal shooting in downtown Fargo last summer has pled not guilty.

Jayvon Allen was charged with murder, reckless endangerment, and two counts of aggravated assault.

Allen is accused with the homicide of Azeem Holmes, who was shot and killed on August 3, 2025.

Two additional persons were shot in downtown Fargo.

One person was in serious condition in the hospital, while the other was injured but not killed.

Another hearing on Allen’s case is scheduled for August 25.
