Two girls who went missing from their Toledo foster home on Thursday were discovered safe several hours later in Cleveland.
Toledo police and the US Marshals SPEAR Unit (Specialized Personnel for Enforcement, Apprehension, and Recovery) collaborated to locate the children.
According to US Marshals, the girls were discovered at an apartment in the 1200 block of W. 25th St. with two adult men.
One man, 30, was detained at the scene, and authorities are looking into potential charges.
The second man, Carlos Bruton, 42, was apprehended on the scene. According to the US Marshals, Bruton is presently free on bond in Cuyahoga County and faces charges of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and interference with custody.
“Cases like this are some of the most significant ones we handle. Missing children are vulnerable to individuals who want to hurt them and exploit them for deceitful and damaging purposes. We will continue to work across Ohio and the country to assure our children’s protection,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
