A 37-year-old Lake County man won a $1 million top prize in the Florida Lottery’s “GIANT BUCKS” scratch-off game.

James Bostick of Lady Lake went to the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on August 4 to claim his win. Officials said that Bostick elected to receive his winnings in a single, lump-sum payment of $606,600.00.

The winning ticket was purchased at BJ’s Wholesale Club, situated at 13585 N.E. 86th Path in Lady Lake.

According to state officials’ data, scratch-off games accounted for nearly 74% of total Florida Lottery ticket sales during the fiscal year 2024-2025.

Since the lottery’s establishment, scratch-off tickets have paid out over $72.2 billion in total prizes, created 2,510 millionaires, and donated more than $21.28 billion to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
