Two men are accused of participating in a shooting at a south Phoenix house party that left one person injured, authorities said.

Adrian Galindo-Ortiz, 36, and Roberto Ortiz, 18, have been arrested, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Galindo-Ortiz is charged with aggravated assault, assault, shooting a firearm at a dwelling, and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Meanwhile, Ortiz is charged with aggravated assault, unauthorized escape from law police, shooting a firearm at a dwelling, and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

How did authorities connect them to the south Phoenix house party shooting?

On Sunday, around 3 a.m., officers responded to various reports of a shooting at a home near 27th Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the torso.

He was transported to a neighboring hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department in critical condition. However, he was stable by Monday afternoon.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Galindo-Ortiz had been thrown out of the party earlier that nite because he was inebriated and unruly.

He then gathered Ortiz, his cousin, and three others to face those who had kicked him out.

When they returned to the house, Ortiz fired multiple shots into the air and into the house, according to authorities, striking the victim.

Officers responding to the incident noticed a vehicle departing the scene and chased it before pulling it over shortly after. Ortiz, who was driving, and the three other males inside were detained.

Meanwhile, authorities discovered that Galindo-Ortiz had fled on foot, and he was later apprehended by an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper while traveling toward the southern Arizona border.
