A crash on Saturday afternoon killed two people and stopped I-71 for several hours.
According to the Strongsville Police Department, first responders were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle incident in the interstate’s southbound lanes between Pearl Road and Royalton Road at 3:15 p.m. on August 15.
According to authorities, the vehicle was carrying three people and was found in a ditch off the side of the road.
The potential cause of the crash was not revealed.
According to authorities, the driver, 20-year-old Cleveland resident I’saic Pace, was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries.
Heaven Hennings, 20, of Cleveland, was carried by EMS to a hospital and confirmed dead.
Caiden Ozanich, 19, from Cleveland, died at the scene.
The interstate reopened for traffic Saturday evening.
