Man apprehended after police say he struck a Barberton Police Officer fleeing a domestic dispute

The Barberton Police Department Detective Bureau nabbed a man who allegedly hit a Barberton Police Officer while fleeing the scene of a domestic argument on Friday.

Shortly after the incident, police were able to identify a suspect and trace his vehicle into Cleveland using ALPR.

Deandre L. Taylor, 22, was stopped and arrested by Cleveland Police before being turned over to officials in Barberton.

Taylor was charged with impeding government business, a fifth-degree felony, and aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor, and was placed into the Summit County Jail.

Police said further charges may be considered during the Grand Jury process.
