A 30-year-old Lakeland woman apprehended after attempting to evade a deputy on Monday, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 24, 2026, authorities detained Alexus Nicole Dupree near Nokonis Avenue in Lakeland.

According to sheriff’s office reports, a deputy monitoring the neighborhood noticed Dupree standing in the front yard of a property. The deputy recognized Dupree from past interactions and was aware she had an existing Polk County warrant for breach of probation related to a previous petit theft incident.

When the deputy exited his police vehicle, Dupree turned and dashed into the house. The deputy pursued her into the house and arrested her without additional trouble.

Deputies took Dupree to the Sheriff’s Processing Center. In addition to the pending probation violation warrant, she was charged with resisting an officer without violence after fleeing from law enforcement.

According to sheriff’s office records, Dupree’s previous criminal history includes accusations of petit theft, uttering a forged instrument, fraudulent use of personal identification, and probation violation.
