Three people were taken into custody after police said an argument outside a Miami restaurant turned into a fight that left a guy with several stab wounds early Saturday morning.
According to a Miami Police arrest record, the fight occurred shortly after midnight on August 29 outside Cafe Honduras Maya, which is located at 2980 NW Seventh Street.
According to investigators, the victim and a buddy were heading out of the restaurant toward the friend’s vehicle when they noticed the suspects peeing in the parking lot.
The victim ordered them not to urinate in public, so the group approached him and started arguing.
The victim’s buddy informed police that he attempted to de-escalate the situation by telling the group that he was armed and did not want any trouble.
He then put his pistol inside his car and stepped back out to see the suspects on top of the victim.
Police stated the friend attempted to interfere and was punched during the altercation.
The victim told officers that he was holding a knife to defend himself when the suspects approached him and began punching him.
According to the complaint, one of the suspects snatched the knife and stabbed the victim repeatedly in the head and hands.
The suspects then approached a white pickup truck and escaped, according to the witness.
Police identified the three suspects as Deyton Rojas, 32, Jose Luis Martinez, 41, and Helder Rojas, 30.
Martinez was later detained on the spot.
The person was sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police claimed the victim’s cellphone video verified his account.
According to the arrest report, Deyton Rojas faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
