A registered sex offender, known as “the serial butt sniffer” on social media, was taken into custody again.
According to CBS News, 39-year-old Calese Crowder was arrested on Friday for violating his parole after reportedly attempting to sniff other people in a supermarket in Glendale, California.
According to Glendale police, officers arrived to a grocery store in the 1500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard about 3:30 p.m. on Friday after getting a tip about a suspicious guy apparently attempting to sniff others.
The agency claimed it got identical complaints from a Marshalls location, and Crowder was identified as the suspect after officers studied CCTV footage from both locations.
According to the Burbank Police Department, Crowder was arrested twice in the same month last year for allegedly harassing women by sniffing them.
The suspect has a history of similar crimes in Glendale and Burbank dating back to 2021, including a viral instance in which a woman posted a video of him sniffing her on TikTok before claiming he was tying his shoe.
According to the footage, he subsequently tried the same thing on another woman.
According to CBS, he was also arrested for peeping and prowling at a Glendale residence, and he has previously served time for possession of a prohibited substance, robbery, and burglary.
Crowder remains in custody without bond pending his next hearing, according to the article.
